More than 80% of Madagascar’s population lives in extreme poverty. The country’s economy and landscapes are collapsing due to poor governance, a lack of a growth vision, and the large-scale destruction of forests and other key natural resources. This makes local livelihoods extremely fragile. Initiatives are numerous but operate in silos. There is no national, green, homegrown vision for economic growth.
